To Amerika

A pictorial story of the emigration of Swedes to America and their settlement in Minnesota as interpreted by the Swedish folk painter Bengt Engman. The original 190 foot long mural decorates the auditorium at The American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dala painting is often referred to as "Dalmålning". It is the traditional style of painting in the province of Dalarna in Sweden.
